Michigan State red-shirt freshman Darren Barnett is dying for the season to open for the Spartans. The 2002 Princeton graduate was a very late addition to the Spartans last year and sat out his freshman year learning the college system. Barnett, a 5'11" 190 pound speedster (4.4 in the 40) is now set to play "in the dime package", and on "some special teams." First up for the Spartans is Mid American Conference foe Western Michigan. "They got a lot of good receivers, so it will be a challenge," says Barnett. Barnett comes from a family of athletes as his uncle Harlan played professionally and now is coaching at LSU with former Michigan State coach Nick Sabina. Stay! tuned for further updates on Darren Barnett.
