DIVISION I

1. WARREN HARDING - 1 / 2-0

2. CLEVELAND ST. IGNATIUS - 2 / 2-0

3. CINCINNATI COLERAIN - 4 / 2-0

4. MENTOR - 6 / 2-0

5. LAKEWOOD ST. ED's - 7 / 2-0

6. CINCINNATI ST. XAVIER - 8 / 2-0

7. UPPER ARLINGTON - 9 / 2-0

8. CINCINNATI ELDER - 3 / 1-1

9. CINCINNATI ANDERSON - 10 / 2-0

10. DUBLIN COFFMAN - NR / 2-0

CHANGES: Northmont drops out of the poll due to loss after having big lead. You have to have a team that can play defense and in the first two games of the season they held on to win 1 and lose 1. Massillon Washington, you can't lose to a team two divisions lower than you and be considered a Top 10 team. Elder drops in the poll but not out due to quality of team that beat them. Other teams getting close to making the Top 10 are Marion Harding, Massilon Jackson and Toledo St. Francis De Sales.

DIVISION II

1. AVON LAKE - 1 / 2-0

2. VANDALIA BUTLER - 2 / 2-0

3. NORDONIA - 5 / 2-0

4. COLUMBUS BROOKHAVEN - 6 / 2-0

5. TROTWOOD MADISON - 8 / 2-0

6. CHARDON - 9 / 2-0

7. COLUMBUS WALNUT RIDGE - 10 / 2-0

8. COPLEY - NR / 2-0

9. PIQUA - 3 / 1-1

10. KINGS MILLS KINGS - 4 / 1-1 (TIE)

10. COLUMBUS INDEPENDENCE - 7 / 1-1 (TIE)

CHANGES: Copley enters the poll at the # 8 spot. While some who loss move down the poll none move out. Piqua lost to a very good DII team ranked in the OPS Top 10. Kings, Independence and Piqua have no room to make mistakes to remain in the poll. At #3 Nordonia may be underrated. Whitehall Yearling is looking to make it into the poll.

DIVISION III

1. CLEVELAND BENEDICTINE - 1 / 2-0

2. COLUMBUS ST. FRANCIS De Sales - 2 / 2-0

3. AKRON HOBAN - 3 / 2-0

4. DAYTON CHAMINADE JULIENNE - 4 / 1-1

5. STUEBENVILLE - 5 / 2-0

6. VALLEY VIEW - 6 / 2-0

7. POLAND SEMINARY - 7 / 2-0

8. DOVER - NR / 2-0

9. LICKING VALLEY - NR / 2-0

10 COLUMBUS BISHOP WATTERSON - 10 / 1-1 (TIE)

10. HUBBARD - NR / 2-0 (TIE)

10. AKRON BUCHTEL - 9 / 0-2 (TIE)

10. KETTERING ALTER - 8 / 1-1 (TIE)

CHANGES: Yes I see that I have four teams tied at #10. Here is my reasoning, Alter played a good Bellbrook team lost 13-12, Buchtel played another DI team and lost 14-7, Bishop Watterson played Piqua and won big. Hubbard deserves to get credit for its good start. Dover and Licking Valley enter the poll for the first time after having very good starts to the season. As we have stated many times this and DI will be the hardest Divisions to win a State Title in 2003.

DIVISION IV

1. AKRON ST. VINCENT - ST. MARY - 1 / 2-0

2. IRONTON - 2 / 2-0

3. PORTSMOUTH - 3 / 2-0

4. VERSAILLES - 4 / 2-0

5. COLDWATER - 5 / 2-0

6. COSHOCTON - 6 / 2-0

7. CLINTON MASSIE - 8 / 2-0

8. BELLAIRE - NR / 2-0

9. YOUNGSTOWN CARDINAL MOONEY - NR / 2-0

10. STRUTHERS - NR / 2-0 (TIE)

11. AKRON MANCHESTER - 10 / 1-1

CHANGES: There are many. Girard drops out along with Youngstown Ursuline. While I still feel Ursuline has great talent and will compete for a title they have to have wins to stay in the Top 10. The drop of Girard was a hard one but this division has to many teams that are good. New to the poll are Bellaire, Cardinal Mooney and Struthers. Keep an eye out for teams like Urbana, Delta, Huron and Wickliffe all off to 2-0 starts for the year.

DIVISION V

1. DELPHONS ST. JOHNS - 1 / 2-0

2. MARION PLEASANT - 2 / 2-0

3. SMITHVILLE - 3 / 2-0

4. MONROE CENTRAL - 5 / 2-0

5. AMANDA CLEARCREEK - 6 / 2-0

6. EAST CLINTON - 7 / 2-0

7. GAHANNA COLUMBUS ACADMEY - 8 / 2-0

8. LIBERTY CENTER - 10 / 2-0

9. MORRAL RIDGEDALE - NR / 2-0

10. BEDFORD CHANEL - 4 / 1-1

CHANGES: One new team enters the poll this week. Morral Ridgedale is in with its 2-0 start. Chanel lost but it was to a DII team 12-0. Other than that not much has changed.

DIVISION VI

1. COLUMBUS GROVE - 1 / 2-0

2. DANVILLE - 4 / 2-0

3. HARDIN NORTHERN - 5 / 2-0

4. MOGADORE - 9 / 1-1

5. NEWARK CATHOLIC - 3 / 1-1

6. MARION LOCAL - 7 / 1-1

7. CUYAHOGA HEIGHTS - NR / 2-0

8. MINSTER - 6 / 1-1

9. COVINGTON - NR / 2-0

10. STRASBURG-FRANKLIN - NR / 2-0 (TIE)

10. MONROEVILLE - 2 / 1-1 (TIE)

CHANGES: What a difference a week makes. We have 4 teams with 1-1 records. They lost to some of the best teams in the state and we couldn't drop them because of that. New to the poll is Cuyahoga Heights, Covington and Strasburg-Franklin all who have started 2003 at 2-0. We have removed from the Top 10 the following teams, Shadyside and Tiffin-Calvert. Monroeville stays in the poll with a loss. They played up this past week and while they drop to #10 a poor showing next week could move them out of the poll.

This year is going to be the hardest I have seen in doing a poll. Each week good teams are playing other good teams and we will see many changes in rankings. The poll that really starts telling us who is going to do what comes in about two weeks. After we finish the 4th week of the season you have a better chance to see who is real and who is not. Give us your thoughts about the OPS Top 10 on the Football Message Board.
