Wayne Warriors    at    Springfield South
As the conference season begins this week. So does the intense rivalries. As we look into week 4.  Wayne Warrior (2-1) will travel to Evans Stadium to play Springfield South (0-3). Forget South's record this game will be a typical Wayne-South game. South has had Wayne's number the last few years. If Wayne wants to stay in playoff contention they will have to come and play focused as they did for Toledo St Francis last week in a 40-7 win. South is very young with a Sophomore QB and a Freshman RB, along with 2 Junior Wings. The do have an experienced front 4 with young DB's. This seems to be a growing year for both South and Wayne. Players to watch RB Thomas Mouser Wayne rushed for 128 yds and 2 td's last week, Watch the steady improvement of Matt Whited at QB along with the O-line.
Piqua at Northmont (My GWOC game of the week)
Piqua at Northmont a classic game involving great defense against a great offense. If you ask me this could be the game of the week. Northmont's offense has looked very strong in the first three game's. With QB Tyler Horner leading the way for the Bolt's. The Bolt's are a impressive first half team, but three week's in row they have had trouble closing the game out. Bolt's survived a week one Second half collapse against CJ, Then the following week couldnt make it out of Upper Arlington do to a second half fall apart  Week 3 brought more of the same as South scored 19 in the second half as there come back came up short.
Beavercreek       at      Xenia
The Beavercreek Beavers will travel to Cox Stadium in Xenia to take on the Buccs. Xenia could very well be one of the most talented offensive teams in Southwest Ohio. The Beavers were what I called the best 1st half team of the season last year. This year the Beavers to be about the same after a tail whipping from Carroll the Beavers fought back to lose a close game to Trotwood. Xenia with the backfield of Cedric Tolbert and Rudy Jones, along with Cousins could have the best back field in the state. The questions is can Xenia get over the GWOC hump in the last two years the Buccs have had second half collapses. Look for a big day from the Xenia backfield.

Trotwood at Centerville
Centerville started off strong with a 35-14 spanking of Fairfield but as it turns out Fairfield was just no competition for Centerville. The Elks got there match in a storm filled week 2 match up against the Middletown Middies. The Elks dropped a close one in the end 23-18. The Elks got the struggling Trojans in week 3 only to have the Trojans spoil another week for Elks coming back late to win 21-17. The Elks could be one loss for being out of the playoffs for the third year straight. Trotwood comes in 3-0 with a hard fought victory over the Beavers. Mo Douglass has returned Trotwood back to form with Illinois recruit Zach Logan. Trotwood seems to be battled tested early this year with there last two cames being won by less than a touchdown. The Elks could be down after back to back losses and getting to close to just playing for a conference title and pride with no playoff birth. Look for big game for Tommy Tamaska and Brent Middleton from the Elks. The Elks will come pumped after the latest loss to the Troy Trojans.
Vandalia Butler vs Greenville
The Aviators will be pumped after there loss last week to Dublin Coffman. The Wave have shown improvement each week. Unless the Green Wave play near flawless ball, the Aviators should walk away with a win this week.
Sidney Yellowjackets at Troy Trojans
The Troy Trojans are riding the emotional roller coaster after a close loss to D3 Valley View 14-3  in week 2. They stay home and beat D1 Dayton powerhouse Centerville Elks 21-17 in week 3. If the Trojans continue there improvement Sidney should just be another stepping stone for the Trojans. Sidney operates in a pass first run later offense which has caused problems in the past for Troy. Sidney comes into Fridays game 1-2 after last weeks drumbing from McNicholas 40-14.
Springfield North at Kettering Fairmont
Springfield North comes in on a 2 game winning streak while showing a little offensive power last week in a 35-26 win over Urbana. The panthers have avenged last seasons losses at the beginning of the season. With there only loss coming to Hillard Davidson (3-0). Kettering Fairmont comes in 1-2 with there only win coming against a struggling Thomas Worthington team 22-7. Fairmont has been unable to score in there two losses only totaling 6 points in two losses to though defense in Piqua and Alter. North should be able to pick up where it left off last week with its offense. Also look for Fairmont to put up some points this week with Norths defense only getting c grade.
