One of the players who is seeing his stock rise during the season had a big game for one of the top Miami Valley and Southwest Ohio teams.

The Alter Knights scored an unexpected easy win over previously unbeaten Cincinnati Purcell Marian in their GCL opener this past Saturday at Foreman Field in Kettering 41-0, proving among other things, the big win over Columbus Independence the previous week was no fluke.

OPS prospect and the multi faceted Zach Freshwater pulled an unusual tri-fecta for the Knights along the way as well. As a WR, Zach had a spectacular leaping TD CATCH in the corner of the end zone; as a QB he had a 50 yard TD CATCH and as a DB he had a 3rd quarter pass INTERCEPTION.

For the night Freshwater mustered 96 total yards (46 receiving on 2 receptions and 50 rushing on 1 attempt) and 12 points of offense to go with 1 pick and 3 tackles for the night on defense.

The Knights, who open the first week of the official OHSAA computer rankings at #4 in D-III Region 12, travel to Cincinnati this Friday for round II in the GCL and a match-up with Region 12 nemesis Roger Bacon who opened at #5.
