The Firebirds suffered another disappointing loss this past Friday at the hands of the ST. Francis of New York, Red Raiders.

The Firebird's defense came to play, as they have all season, holding St Francis' high scoring
offense (38 ppg) to one touchdown. The Firebird defense this season has given up an average of five (5) ppg (excluding Hoban).  The Red Raiders scored their other two (2) points on a safety when Chanel's  long snapper sent the ball sailing over the punter's head into the end zone.  The safety
proved to be the margin of victory.

The Firebirds offense struggled again last Friday scoring only seven 7 points and leaving the defense on the field most of the game.  Since the first game of the season the offense have averaged only 9 ppg,  and often seems without direction on the field.   More disappointing than the low point production is the apparent lack of effort and emotion the "skilled players" on offense bring to the games.   This team has too much talent to be 2-3 and unless the coaches make drastic moves on offense and get more effort out of the "leaders", the playoffs won't be possible again until next

The Firebirds have a "must win" conference game this Friday against Elyria Catholic.
