Brandon Wamsley and his Anderson High School teammates are showing why they are one of the top teams in the Cincinnati area. With solid play from the defensive backfield, Anderson is sitting with a 6-0 record and looking for a run in the Region 4 DI playoffs.
Brandon is still seeing interest from many programs and at this time weighting his options. The school that seems to be coming at Brandon the hardest at this time is Maryland. Coach Blackney has stayed in contact with Brandon during the last month and is trying to get Brandon to head over for a game. While he's been unable to do that, he's trying to work it into his busy weeks to take a hard look at the ACC school.
Other schools that have been in contact include Louisville, Cincinnati, Akron, Toledo, Marshall, Illinois, Ohio University and both Western and Eastern Kentucky. Brandon and fellow teammate Phil Poetter another top defensive prospect will try and head to Eastern Kentucky this weekend. He is also trying to set up games with Cincinnati and Louisville.
On the season Brandon is third on his team in tackles ( 39 ) has 3 interceptions and 1 sack. He has also been very good at breaking up passes with 10+ at this time.
OPS NOTE: Brandon is one of the best safety prospects we have seen in a long time. The reason some schools got soft on him was the lack of a test score. That will not be a problem and look for many schools to join back into the race for this top Southwest Ohio prospect. Stay with OPS for more on Brandon and other top players in the buckeye state.
