The Northmont Thunderbolts (10-1) will put their high powered offensive attack to the ultimate test on Saturday when they line up against the Elder Panthers. Northmont head coach Lance Schneider didn't have to worry much last week as the Thunderbolts rolled off 52 points in a 52-35 win over Mason (9-2).
For Northmont, it was the third time in four weeks that they have scored more than 50 points. The win is the ninth straight dating back to the August 29th loss at Upper Arlington 22-21 and this week may be the stiffest test since then.
Elder is also 10-1 coming off an impressive 28-7 win over Anderson. The Panthers defense has allowed more than 21 points only once this year and that was to Warren Central High School from Indiana. It was the only time that Elder has lost. Elder's offense is loaded as well. They are averaging over 30 points per game and have been held under 20 only once, in a 17-16 win over Bishop Chatard High School from Indianapolis.
The winner of the Northmont / Elder game will play the winner of Colerain (11-0) / Moeller (8-3) , which is being played at 8:00pm Saturday night at Nippert Stadium (University of Cincinnati).
