A LOOK AT SAT NIGHT AND HOW DAVE DID.

Take a look at how I did with my picks and who is left in the OHSAA 2003 Championship run.

Well the second night of the playoffs saw just as many upsets as the first night of the second round. Lets look at who I picked and who won.

Division I

Region 1

Well you never know when St. Ignatius is going to have one of those years and win a title, its not going to be 2003. Mentor who came in to the game with a hot hand and defense that was not letting anyone score, did the same thing by beating the Wildcats 31-0. That's one for me. 1-0

Warren G. Harding has been my pick all year and St. Ed's found a way to lose three games in the regular season. Harding's chances of a repeat trip to the finals ends with a 21-13 loss. That's one I lost. 1-1

Region 2

I had picked North Canton Hoover, but Wadsworth the #5 seed takes it to them and wins 45-33 to advance to the next round. That's one I lost. 1-2

St. John's Jesuit is playing some good football. Brunswick gave them everything they could ask for and comes up short 9-7. That's one I win. 2-2

Region 3

Hilliard Davidson had the big win in week one of the playoffs when they beat Westerville South. Coming in as the #8 seed I knew two big wins were one to much. I picked Dublin Coffman and they advance with a 40-21 victory. That's one I win. 3-2

Lancaster looked to have things going there way and ready to advance. Wrong, Dublin Scioto comes in and get by with a 17-12 victory. I can tell you this, a Dublin school will advance to the state semifinals. That's one I lose. 3-3

Region 4

I picked the defending state champion to advance and they did with a 33-7 victory over Clayton Northmont. The victory puts the Panthers needing just two more victories away from a return trip up I-71 and the hopes of back-to-back titles. That's one I win. 4-3

After watching Moeller beat Wayne by 4 points the week before, I knew they would be a hard game for Colerain. My pick for this region has been Colerain for most of the year. They advance with a 30-23 win and a game against Elder next week. That's one I win. 5-3

Division IV

Region 13

Things start very good for me here. I had Black River over Triway and they did just that. The 29-14 victory puts them one step closer to there goal of a title run. That's one I win. 6-3

Even the fact they were a 6 seed didn't stop me from taking Villa Angela-St Joseph over Apple Creek Waynedale. I just feel that with the number of top teams they played the 6-4 regular season mark is miss leading. The 22-17 win puts them into a big game next week with Black River. That's one I win. 7-3

I thought Urbana was headed back to the glory days this year. But Delta did know that. They advance with a 28-20 victory and will play Coldwater next week. That's one I win. 8-3

I knew Coldwater would win and they beat Lima Bath 28-0 to advance. That's one I win. 9-3

I felt this was going to be an easy bracket for me. But Ironton goes down in overtime 20-14 TO Bellaire, and I lose. 9-4

Martins Ferry didn't come close to Coshocton as they go down 36-14. That's one I win. 10-4

Clinton-Massie left Mariemont in the dust in its 42-14 victory. That's one I win. 11-4

I keep telling people that this Versailles team looks like the one to beat. Reading people felt they could win, but I took Versailles and come out on top. We will have more on this game as I was there to watch. That's one I win. 12-4

After looking so good early, I drop my second in a row with the pick of Windham over St. Mary C.C. With the 49-24 victory Sandusky St. Mary C.C. advances for a big game with Monroeville next week. I lose this one. 12-6
