Trumaine Smith Makes the Call

The MAC lands another big time player. Trumaine Smith recently verballed to a MAC school. Read on to see where.

One of the most underrated recruits I saw this year on tape was Warrensville Heights WR/DB/Returnman Trumaine Smith. Smith is a dynamite playmaker with exceptional speed. He's a physical specimen, standing 6'3 and weighing in near the 190 range. His speed makes him a great get for the Rockets. Smith clocked in a 4.37 forty time electronically and also recorded a 10.7 one-hundred in track. He was the fastest player at the Michigan State camp this past year. Trumaine also helped his track squad to a 400 meter relay title.

Trumaine had a rough junior year, catching just 13 balls, but the reason was mainly due to Heights having two 1,200 yard rushers and quarterbacks without the abilty to deliver the ball.

Smith's senior year was a bit more productive as he hauled in 31 balls. As of now, Trumaine is set on graduating early to enroll at UT in time for spring ball. He was recruited by Chris Hedden and the UT staff wants to get him up to 210 without losing his speed.

He will join fellow Ohio recruits Andrew Decker (OL -- Toledo St Johns), Clint Cochran (QB -- Wadsworth), Warren Harding Raiders Anthony Hoke (LB) & Richard Davis (RB), and Erique Dozier (S -- Akron Garfield) at Toledo.

I would like to personally congratulate Trumaine on making his decision and wish him the best of luck at UT.
