OhioPrepScene Scouting Report:
After watching film of Andrew I have the following report. Andy has good size in his lower leg development. His arm form is advanced for most at his level. He hits the Radar gun on average between 84-89 mph with his fastball and loses around 15-20 mph when he throws off speed. He has a consistent release point and throws using leg drive and arm action. Andrew shows that he can get his off speed pitches over for strikes as well as his fastball that has movement. From what I have seen, he doesn't waste time on the mound and works at a steady pace. I feel Andrew still needs work in building his arm strength, but that should come with age and weight room work. He has a quick move to first and a nice short stride from the stretch position to the plate that keep runners close to the bag. Area that he needs to improve on the most is his landing position after releasing the pitch. Overall Andrew has shown good poise and the desire to improve his overall game. Went 9-3 during the summer for legion team. Andrew is a great prospect for college baseball with his pitching and academic background.
