O.J. Mayo is living up to all the hype with his consistent play as a freshman at North College Hill in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mayo scored 26 points in a victory over Lockland Friday. What makes OJ special is after the narrow victory and after everybody else had retired for the evening, the 6'6 point guard went right back to work shooting jumpers and working on his deficiencies with his uncle and grandfather. Mayo is leading the city in scoring with a 28.9-point average while grabbing 7.3 rebounds dishing out 5.9 assists and stealing it 4.4 times a game.
Caveat: NCH's Bill Walker, a 6'6 freshman, is recovering from injury and is said to be about four weeks from returning to the floor.
