The 2005 recruiting class is starting very strong for Michigan.

With the ink just getting dried on many of the letters of intent signed on Wednesday, the next recruiting class is not waiting for junior days and summer camps. One of Ohio's top juniors has made his college choice and ended the recruiting process before it even got started.

Warren Harding wide receiver Mario Manningham, told Michigan Coach Lloyd Carr today he wants to play for Michigan.

In a story published by GoBlueWolverine.com today, they had the following information from Mario.

STORY FROM GoBlueWolverine.com

Wide receiver Mario Manningham (6-0, 180 lbs., 4.4 in the 40) from Warren, Ohio, Harding ( the alma mater of Prescott Burgess) just told us:

Did you go ahead and commit to Michigan?

"Yeah, I did! I told Coach Carr today!"

Why did you pick Michigan?

"They had the best situation for me -- the best combination of athletics and academics. I was the most comfortable there. "

Why did you do it now?

"I wanted to just enjoy the rest of my high school career. And Coach Carr told me that if I got injured or anything, that Michigan would honor the scholarship no matter what!"

Manningham is the top junior wide-out in Ohio -- and some say the top prospect overall!

Those some are not OhioPrepScene.com, we feel that Mario is one of the top players in the junior class, but not the #1 overall at this time. He's had two very good seasons and should be considered one of the Top 10 Juniors in the state.
