Hamilton survives Fairfield challenge

Miami of Ohio was the setting for a tournament match-up of Hamilton and Fairfield. OPS was on hand for the action.

It's difficult to beat the same team three times in one season, yet this is just what the Big Blue accomplished with a 38-32 victory over Fairfield in sectional tournament play in Oxford, Ohio. Adam Myers-White and Latez Williams led the Big Blue. The game was tied 14-14 at halftime due mostly to great defense being played on both ends that led to 24% shooting by Fairfield and 26% shooting by Hamilton. The second half produced better shooting and better action as the Indians almost pulled out the upset. A two handed dunk by Williams off the sweet dime by Derrick Huff gave the Blue the advantage with less than a minute left. An immediate steal gave them a four-point lead and enough to hold on for the victory. The officiating in this game was superb led by veteran referee Butch Burbidge. Only 11 fouls were called all night. Hamilton faces Mason Sunday in Oxford.
