Richburg asserts himself and Mason lives

Mason was looking to advance into the tournament, OPS was there for the action.

Carl Richburg and the Mason Comets pulled one out of the clouds Wednesday night in Oxford, Ohio. With less than three minutes remaining Aiken had a commanding three point lead. But a couple of three pointers by Mason superstars Richburg and Matt Owens had the Comets right back in the thick of things. A couple of ill-advised shots and pass attempts later and the Comets forced overtime. After three quarters of tremendous defense the Falcons D flew the coup. Mason scored 27 points in the fourth quarter and 13 in overtime to outscore the Falcons 40-26 in the games final two periods. Richburg didn't have his finest night shooting 4-16, but his 12-14 from the line helped the Comets achieve victory! Matt Owens chipped in 19 for Coach Greg Richards's squad. Aiken was led by Solomon Johnson's 15 points and 8 rebounds.
