NUMBERS CRUNCHED FROM OHSAA TOURNAMENT

We have some fun with crunching numbers from the OHSAA Tournament.

In looking back at the 2004 Boy's State Basketball Championships, we do some number crunching. Here's a look at some numbers and what they meant to the tournament.

0 - Points scored by Holgate in the 3rd quarter of their semi-final game against South Webster. This was the fewest points scored in a quarter since Eaton scored 1 in a Class B Tournament game in 1950.

00:01 - Time left on clock when Blake Sizemore hit a 3 for the win in Holgate's victory over South Webster.

1 - Number of people who were passing out statistics for the OHSAA that will play Women's College Basketball. Lissi Fuller from Mt. Vernon passed out the statistics during the tournament. Lissi was a 4 year starter in Basketball for Mt. Vernon and finished her high school career with a 74-15 mark. Lissi was selected 3rd Team All-State and will play basketball for Cumberland College in Kentucky next year.

2 - Number of time LeBron James and Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary had kept Ottawa-Glandorf from the Final Four. In 2003 and 2002 James and Company stopped the Titans from reaching their goal of a Final Four. The two teams played again this year with OG coming out on top.

3 - Teams from the MAC in the Final Four

4 - Consecutive years Canton McKinley & Columbus Brookhaven have been in the State Final Four.

6 - Times a Boys State Tournament game has sold out, since moving to the Schottenstein Center.

8 - Where Hamilton finished ranked in the final State AP Poll.

14 - Number of Ohio counties with teams in the Final Four in 2004.

18 - Total rebounds by the Pollitz twins in title game. Eric - 15 / Tim - 3

26 - Number of times Canton McKinley has reached the State Tournament.

28 - Number of points scored for the whole game against Holgate in their semi-final loss.

32 - Points scored by Maria Stein Marion Local in their finals loss to Holgate. This is the lowest point total since 1963 in a state tourney game. Marion Harding lost to Columbus East 41-32 in a Class A Final.

39 - Total Points scored by the Pollitz twins in title game against Northwest.

44 - Number worn by Super Sophomore Raymar Morgan. Remember this name!!!

48 - Years Clair Muscaro has been involved with Ohio High School sports. 20 as commissioner and 28 as a coach and administrator. Mr. Muscaro coached his first team in 1959 at Ravenna High School.

58 - Number of boy's listed at Holgate for the OHSAA breakdown.

59 - Total points scored by Holgate and North Webster in their semi-final game. It was the lowest point total since 1946 when Worthington and Waynesburg battled in a Class B Semi-Final game. The total points scored in that game. 47.

82 - Number of Tournaments the OHSAA has held for Boy's Basketball.

1,153 - Number of wins in Dover school history since 1902.

1661 - Number of wins all-time Canton McKinley has in Ohio High School basketball. They hold more wins than any other team in Ohio High School basketball.

18,200 - Number of people who watched Ottawa - Glandorf defeat Canal Fulton Northwest in the finals of D-II.

177,955 - Total Attendance for the 2004 State Tournament.
