ACADEMICS

This is an area that Javon Ringer needs to work on. He knows it and has spoken about the subject in the open. If the academic part is taken care of, the sky is the limit as to where he can play.

HIGH SCHOOL POSITION: Tailback

COLLEGE POSITION: Tailback

COLLEGE PROSPECT LEVEL: D-I - There is no question about the ability Javon shows. He is a special back and it shows every time he takes the field. The only road block for Javon is academics.

FILM BREAKDOWN

Name it, and Javon can do it. This Barry Sanders clone is a special back. Cat quick, with great balance, Javon can make yards on his own. His speed and cutting ability makes teams take notice. Coaches have to game plan for him. He's that big of a weapon, and will be considered one of Ohio's and the countries top running back prospects.

Javon knows there is more to the game than just running. I have seen him play in person twice and also on film. He shows the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and makes the crowd rise to their feet when they see him snatch it and head up field. Blocking is another part of the game Javon shows very good skill. I have witnessed him pick up blitz coverage and give the QB extra time to release, he has also shown good blocking when the QB needs to tuck and run down field.

While Javon is not a 6'0 or taller back, his strength allows him to play bigger. I have seen several backs his size, have great careers in college and see no reason Javon can't do the same. Because of his development level, I see Javon playing during his true freshman year in most programs. If Javon can turn his academics around this spring and summer, he should be considered Ohio's top back.

If you ever get the chance to see this kid play, DO IT!!! You will leave wanting more.
