Dinard Verbals to Wildcats

Player that OPS told you about gives his verbal to a Big 10 school.

Randy Walker and his staff continue their recruiting philosophy of recruiting athletes and not positions. Verbal commitment #1 could play three different positions for the Wildcats.

Dinard, a 6-foot-2, 222-pounder from Parma (Ohio) Padua Franciscan says he couldn't be happier about his decision to pledge the ‘Cats.

"Northwestern has always been my favorite," said Dinard. "I'm going to get an Ivy League education and play football in the Big Ten. It doesn't get any better than that.

"I camped at Northwestern and I've been up there for a couple of unofficial visits. I've developed a good relationship with the coaching staff.

"Jack Glowik" is recruiting me and I feel that I can really trust him and what he's telling me."

Which position will Dinard play for Northwestern?

"I'm being recruited as a Will (Weak Side) linebacker but Coach Walker said he still hasn't ruled out the possibility of me playing H-Back, which is a combination of fullback and tight end.

"I couldn't be any happier right now. Northwestern is one of the greatest educations in the world. I'm very grateful for this opportunity."

Dinard carries a 4.68 GPA in the classroom and he scored a 30 on his ACT. Mike played mostly tailback as a junior and rushed for 968 yards and 15 touchdowns.

OPS wishes Mike the best for his senior season and also in his academic and athletic career at Northwestern.
