With a deep offensive line class this year, several top prospects have gone under the radar during the early recruiting season. One such player is Jacob Black of Miami Trace High School (Washington Court House, OH).
The 6'5" 285 lb. Black may have been overshadowed by fellow teammate Miles Schlichter, but held his own during several camps this summer. Having visited the Scout.com Combine in Akron, along with senior camps held at West Virginia, Cincinnati, Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State and Ohio, helped Black find several teams with interest.
While many schools wanted to look at senior film, Ohio University wasted little time in making sure Black felt wanted. While many questioned level of competition, with his size and ability Black will make a solid lineman at the next level.
On Monday, Black gave his verbal commitment to Ohio University and Head Coach Frank Solich. Solich has the Bobcats on the rise in the MAC and will enter this weekend with a 2-2 record as they get ready to battle Bowling Green.
Ohio Prep Scene would like to congratulate Jacob on his choice and wish him the best during the remainder of his senior year and at the next level.
