OHSAA NAMES HALL OF FAME NEW MEMBERS

This is from the OHSAA press release. This is the 15th class of the OHSAA Hall of Fame. 12 new members have been selected. This is for Athletic Officials. With out these people the games could not be played.

OFFICIALS HALL OF FAME MEMBERS SELECTED: Twelve new members were recently selected as the 15th class of inductees into the Ohio High School Athletic Association Officials Hall of Fame. Selections were made by the OHSAA's Officials Advisory Committee. To be selected, an individual must be nominated by a local officials association or, when no local association exists in that district or sports, a registered OHSAA official may nominate another official. The 2003 class will be officially inducted during ceremonies July 19 in Columbus. Those selected were:

 Rhonda Funkhouser, Dover (volleyball official)

Robert Guthrie Jr., Mansfield (track & field official)

Bernie Harris, Kettering (football, basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball official)

 Fred Heinlen, Shaker Heights (basketball and football official)

 John Howell, Shadyside (basketball official)

 Wendell Miller, Canal Winchester (basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball official)

 Kirt Rockel, Dayton, Ky. (wrestling official)

 Vern Smith, Uniontown (football, volleyball, basketball and track & field official)

 Leo Stiger, Paulding (track & field official)

 Donis Toler Sr., Zanesville (basketball official)

 James VanDeGrift, Lebanon (basketball and track & field official)

Thomas Venditelli, Westerville, (basketball official)
