Rank (prev)

1 (1)
Manatee logo
Manatee (9-0) Bradenton, FL

At this point, Manatee is just tuning up for the playoffs. The last team Manatee played that belonged on the field with them was Miami Central on September 14th.

Last: Def Sarasota 51-9
: 11/9 Lakewood Ranch (5-4)
2 (2)
John Curtis Christian Logo
John Curtis (9-0) River Ridge, LA

Speaking of needing a new challenge, Curtis won fifth out of six games by 50+ to zero shutouts. Playing in 2A though, I'm not sure Curtis will be challenged in Louisiana's playoffs either.

Last: Def South Plaquemines 50-0
Next: 11/9 Pope John Paul (3-6)
3 (3)
Vista Murrieta Logo
Vista Murrieta (10-0) Murrieta, CA

Vista Murrieta ran roughshod through its league schedule including a convincing 38-0 win over playoff bound Chaparral. California doesn't play state playoffs. They play region playoffs, and The Bronco's first opponent is in for a beating.

Last: Def Chaparral 38-0
Next: 11/9 South Hills (6-4)
4 (4)
St. Edward (11-0) Lakewood, OH

St. Edward had little trouble with its opening playoff opponent in Mayfield. However Mentor is capable of beating any team on any night.

Last: Def Mayfield 50-27
Next: 11/10 Mentor (10-1)
5 (5)
Katy Logo
Katy (9-0) Katy, TX

Katy expected a fight from Cinco Ranch, and the Tigers got one in its 35-21 victory. A trip to Memorial this week will be difficult as well as Katy looks to close out its regular season 10-0.

Last: Def Cinco Ranch 35-21
Next: 11/9 Memorial (7-2)
6 (6)
Bellevue Logo
Bellevue (10-0) Bellevue, WA

Bellevue closed out its perfect regular season with another blowout. Ferndale brings a 9-1 record into the playoffs this week.

Last: Def Lincoln 45-0
Next: 11/9 Ferndale (9-1)
7 (7)
DeSoto Logo
DeSoto (9-0) DeSoto, TX

The Eagles beat Grand Prairie without much difficulty, but the game with Mansfield should be a little more of a challenge this week.

Last: Def Grand Prairie 76-35
Next: 11/8 @ Mansfield (6-3)
8 (8)
University School Logo Ft. Lauderdale
University (8-0) Ft. Lauderdale

University finished its regular season with a 56-0 win over Eagle's View. With teams such as American Heritage and Madison County looming in the 3A playoffs, University still has tests to face.

Last: Postponed
Next: 11/9 Playoffs
9 (9)
North Allegheny Logo
North Allegheny (10-0) Wexford, PA

North Allegheny kicked off its playoff run by kicking Altoona to the curb 42-14. Bethel Park will be a bit more of a challenge, but one the Tigers should handle.

Last: Def North Hills 42-0
Next: 11/9 Bethel Park (7-3)
10 (10)
Butler Bulldogs Logo
Butler (11-0) Matthews, NC

We expected an easy win for Butler in the opening round of the playoffs, and we weren't disappointed. Next up a rematch with Independence who Butler beat 33-14 just two weeks ago.

Last: Def West Forsyth 49-0
Next: 11/9 Independence (10-2)
11 (11)
St. Ignatius Logo
St. Ignatius (10-1) Cleveland, OH

St. Ignatius bounced back from its loss to St. Edward two weeks ago with a gut check win over a tough Austintown-Finch team. It seems like only the best teams in Ohio make the playoffs as the Wildcats have another tough matchup with North Royalton this week.

Last: Def Austintown-Finch 35-26
: 11/9 North Royalton (10-1)
12 (12)
Good Counsel Logo
Good Counsel (9-1) Olney, MD

Good Counsel deserved a couple of cupcakes after its brutal opening schedule. St. John's is a better opponent, but one Good Counsel should beat with relative ease.

Last: Def Archbishop Carroll 48-0
: 11/9 St. John's (5-5)
13 (15)
Colerain Logo

Colerain (11-0) Cincinnati, OH

Colerain played as complete a game as it has all season in beating a scary St. Xavier squad to open the playoffs. All playoff games in Ohio are battles and this week's contest with Elder is no exception.

Last: Def St. Xavier 35-14
Next: 11/9 Elder (8-3)

14 (16)
Camden County Logo
Camden County (9-0) Kingsland, GA

Camden County aced the first half of its final exam with a sold 24-7 win at Lowndes last week. A trip to Colquitt County is the second half.

Last: Def Lowndes 24-7
Next: 11/9 @ Colquitt County (6-3)
15 (13)
De La Salle Logo
De La Salle (10-0) Concord, CA

De La Salle must have been surprised when the other team showed up this week. California High School is an improving team and one that De La Salle enjoyed the challenge of beating.

Last: Def California 27-14
Next: 11/9 Bye
16 (19)
Grayson Logo
Grayson (8-1) Loganville, GA

Throw out their week three loss to Parkview as an anomaly, and Grayson looks like the best team in the nation. Unfortunately, when winning a mythical national championship, every week counts. The Rams just posted their fourth straight shutout in Georgia's largest classification.

Last: Def Archer 48-0
: 11/9 Brookwood (6-3)
17 (17)
Cibolo Steele Football Logo
Steele (9-0) Cibolo, Texas

Steele has to be looking forward to the playoffs as no one has played the Knights within four scores since Labor Day. Southwest probably won't this week either.

Last: Def Carroll (Corpus Christi) 38-0
Next: 11/9 Southwest (6-3)
18 (30)
Mission Viejo Logo
Mission Viejo (10-0) Mission Viejo, CA

El Toro was undefeated, but untested in its match up with Diablo. El Toro has been tested now; they failed. Mission Viejo dominated the fool's gold Chargers and take on a down but not out Westlake team to open its Pac-5 playoff push.

Last: Def El Toro 49-7
Next: 11/9 Westlake (6-4)
19 (18)
Louisville Trinity Logo
Trinity (9-1) Louisville, KY

The contrast between Ohio and Kentucky playoffs couldn't be more clear as St. Ignatius (OH) opened up with and trinity opened with a 1-10 team. Yes, Trinity pushed them to 1-11. Combined record of Trinity's 1st two round opponents 8-15.

Last: Def Clark 56-7
: 11/9 Madison Central (7-4)
20 (20)
Bishop Gorman Logo
Bishop Gorman (9-1) Las Vegas, NV

Bishop Gorman blew out Shadow Ridge to open its inevitable State Championship run. They'll blow out Palo Verde on Friday.

Last: Def Shadow Ridge 78-13
: 11/9 Palo Verde (7-4)
21 (21)
Don Bosco Logo
Don Bosco Prep (6-1) Ramsey, NJ

It worked out that Don Bosco had a hole in its schedule because its game against Hackensack needed to be on 11/9 instead of last week during the Hurricane.

Last: Idle
Next: 11/9 @ Hackensack (5-2)
22 (22)
American Heritage Logo

American Heritage (9-0) Delray Beach, FL

We joke about teams not showing up to play in some of these ridiculously lopsided scores, but Calvary Christian went ahead and forfeit its game against American Heritage setting up the Stallions showdown this week with Dwyer.

Last: Def West Monroe (LA) 31-7
Next: 11/9 Dwyer (8-1)

23 (14)
Lincoln Logo
Lincoln (8-0) Tallahassee, FL

It's possible both teams got caught in look-ahead mode as Lincoln barely beat a bad Forest team and Godby lost to Wakulla. That takes some of the luster off of this week's battle for Tallahassee.

Last: Def Forest 35-28
Next: 11/8 @ Godby (8-1)
24 (23)
Byrnes Logo
Byrnes (10-1) Duncan, SC

Byrnes went about its business dispatching Wade Hampton to close out its regular season. The Rebels open their playoff push against a good Spring Valley team.

Last: Def Wade Hampton 48-21
: 11/9 Spring Valley (8-3)
25 (24)
Miami Central Logo
Miami Central (6-2) Miami, FL

Central took it relatively easy on Belen Jesuit only beating them by 56. North Miami is looking at a similar score this week.

Last: Def Northwestern 35-17
: 11/8 North Miami (5-5)
26 (25)
Allen Logo
Allen (8-1) Allen

Another road trip for Allen? No problem. Allen has played four of its last five games on the road, but the Eagles are used to it, and no one knows that better than McKinney. Allen heads home this week; if they remember where it is.

Last: Def McKinney 67-14
Next: 11/9 Plano (5-4)
27 (26)
McGill-Toolen Logo
McGill-Toolen (10-0) Mobile, AL

McGill-Toolen tuned up for the playoffs by crushing Sumter Central. Enterprise will provide a little more resistance this week.

Last: Def Sumter Central 51-0
Next: 11/9 Enterprise (7-3)
28 (27)
Booker T Washington Logo
Washington (8-1) Miami, FL

Washington enjoyed its trip to Monsignor Pace last week, and odds are the Tornadoes will find little trouble at Southridge this week.

Last: Def Monsignor Pace 68-17
Next: 11/9 @ Southridge (3-6)
29 (28)
Maine South Logo
Maine South (11-0) Park Ridge, IL

Maine South won a tough game against Conant last week, and they'll have their hands full with Glenbard North in the third round of the playoffs.

Last: Def Conant 27-13
: 11/9 Glenbard North (10-1)
30 (29)
Hoover Logo
Hoover (10-0) Hoover, AL

Hoover closed out its perfect regular season with a win over a solid Opelika team. The Bucs should cruise by its first round playoff opponent Shades Valley.

Last: Def Opelika 30-7
: 11/9 Shades Valley (5-5)
31 (31)
Skyline Logo Sammamish
Skyline (10-0) Sammamish, WA

I'm not sure the playoffs in Washington will offer Skyline a worthy opponent this year. It certainly wasn't Puyallup.

Last: Def Puyallup 59-17
Next: 11/9 Lake Stevens (8-2)
32 (32)
Bentonville Logo
Bentonville (10-0) Bentonville, AR

Bentonville earned an opening week bye with its perfect season. Fayetteville game Bentonville all it wanted last week, a nice primer for the playoffs.

Last: Def Fayetteville 24-17
Next: Bye
33 (33)
Dallas Skyline Logo
Skyline (8-1) Dallas, TX

Skyline is still a couple of weeks away from playing any meaningful football after hanging 70 on White.

Last: Def White 70-14
: 11/9 Berkner (4-5)
34 (34)
Ensworth Logo
Ensworth (10-0) Nashville, TN

Ensworth took a week off to get ready for McCallie who won its first round game in the playoffs.

Last: 1st Round Bye
Next: 11/9 McCallie (5-5)
35 (35)
Oscar Smith Logo
Oscar Smith (9-1) Chesapeake, VA

King's Fork had been getting better every week, but Oscar Smith was still too good for them. A good Bayside team is up next.

Last: Def King's Fork 42-35
: 11/9 Bayside (9-2)
36 (39)
Narbonne Logo
Narbonne (10-0) Harbor City, CA

Narbonne capped a perfect regular season and the No. 1 seed in the Los Angeles City Section. No one in the City-Section can match up with Narbonne until they meet Crenshaw on December 1st in the finals (remember California doesn't play state playoffs, only regional).

Last: Def Gardena 53-7
Next: 11/9 Locke (4-6)
37 (36)
Southlake Carroll Logo
Carroll (8-1) Southlake, TX

Put Carroll in the "get us to the playoffs" camp as their local schedule is just awful. Since its week one loss to Allen, Carroll has outscored its opponents on average 57-4. That differential should actually increase this week against hapless Haltom.

Last: Def Fossil Ridge 70-7
: 11/9 @ Haltom (2-7)
38 (37)
Mesquite Logo
Mesquite (10-0) Mesquite, TX

The Skeeters capped an undefeated regular season with a 55-24 win over Rockwall. They'll take the week off to get ready for the playoff run.

Last: Def Rockwall 55-24
Next: Idle
39 (45)
Saint John Bosco Logo
St. John Bosco (6-4) Bellflower, CA

Bosco had a statement game as the Braves hammered Santa Margarita to win its league for the first time. Those four losses were forfeits for an ineligible player. The Braves are 10-0 on the field and will move to 11-0 after beating Tesoro who backed its way into the Pac-5 playoffs losing 3 of 4 but still getting selected as an at-large.

Last: Def Santa Margarita 42-15
Next: 11/9 Tesoro (7-3)

40 (38)
Gilman Logo
Gilman (7-2) Baltimore, MD

Gilman was off last week but gets McDonogh in the playoffs who the Greyhounds beat handily two weeks ago.

Last: Def McDonogh 48-12
Next: 11/10 McDonogh (3-7)
41 (40)
Coppell Logo
Coppell (9-0) Coppell, TX

Coppell handled Denton Ryan last week, and they'll handle Lewisville this week to cap a 10-0 regular season.

Last: Def Ryan 21-3
Next: 11/9 Lewisville (1-8)
42 (41)
Goose Creek Logo
Goose Creek (11-0) Goose Creek, SC

Goose Creek had all season to get ready for its one tough game, and the Gators took care of business against Stratford. The good news, Goose Creek and Byrnes play in the same classification. The bad news, they play in different divisions and won't play eachother. What is it with these states and their watered down brackets?

Last: Def Stratford 31-23
Next: 11/9 Conway (5-6)
43 (42)
Lincoln-Way East Football Logo
Lincoln-Way East (11-0) Frankfort, IL

Providence Catholic was a dangerous opponent for Lincoln-Way East, but the Griffins moved on to the third round of the playoffs to take on Edwardsville.

Last: Def Providence Catholic 24-14
Next: 11/9 Edwardsville (10-1)

44 (43)
Norcross (9-0) Norcross, GA

Every team deserves a bye week, as it so happens, Norcross gets two in a row as the youngsters should get a lot of playing time this week.

Last: Idle
Next: 11/9 Meadowcreek (0-9)
45 (44)
Gateway Logo
Gateway (9-1) Monroeville, PA

Gateway opened its playoff run with a win over Peters Township. This week's game against Woodland Hills will be Gateway's second toughest of the season behind North Allegheny earlier this year.

Last: Def Peters Township 35-19
Next: 11/9 Woodland Hills (8-2)
46 (46)
Paramus Catholic Logo
Paramus Catholic (6-1) Paramus, NJ

With Sandy coming through the Northeast, it was a good week to have a bye. Paramus Catholic gets back to work this week and should handle Northern Highlands.

Last: Idle
Next: 11/10 Northern Highlands (4-4)
47 (47)
ThunderRidge Logo
ThunderRidge (9-1) Highlands Ranch, CO

ThunderRidge wasn't challenged in its playoff opener. Cherry Creek might not hold up against the Grizzlies either.

Last: Def Westminster 63-34
Next: 11/9 Cherry Creek (6-4)

48 (48)
New Bern Football Logo
New Bern (11-0) New Bern, NC

Pine Forest played like a typical first round sacrificial lamb. There has to be an argument that teams with losing records in league play shouldn't be in the playoffs.

Last: Def Pine Forest 48-7
Next: 11/9 Hoggard (9-2)
49 (49)
Toledo Whitmer Logo
Whitmer (11-0) Toledo, OH

Whitmer handled Avon Lake and will get Hudson this week. Taking a look at the upper half of Whitmer's playoff bracket, St. Ignatius and St. Edwards loom while Colerain mans the other side. Division 1 in Ohio is the best playoff in the nation.

Last: Def Avon Lake 28-0
Next: 11/10 Hudson (9-2)
50 (50)
Muskegon Logo
Muskegon (10-1) Muskegon, MI

Muskegon survived a good Lowell team and will face Midland in round three. At 11-0 Midland is looking for the respect it didn't get during the regular season. Win this one and Midland will have that respect.

Last: Def Lowell 15-13
Next: 11/9 @ Midland (11-0)
