Scout Penn Preps will be releasing its 1st Annual Pre-Season Pennsylvania All-State Football Team on August 14th. In the meantime, we’ll talk about the players that made the teams and where they were placed (first or second team). Today, we'll talk about the tight ends that were selected.
Griffin Sestili committed to Temple back on June 2nd of this year. Sestili plays on a run-heavy football team but was able to haul in three receiving touchdowns.
Luke Frederick caught 19 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns during the 2015 season. Frederick was primarily asked to block and excelled at that as well. Frederick's future is on the defensive side of the ball but with a season-ending injury to Evan Chadbourn, he may see some more passes come his way this year.
Tyler Sear caught 12 passes for 199 yards and four touchdowns during the 2015 season. Like the two previous tight ends listed, Sear does a lot of run-blocking and does a great job at it. Sear committed to Temple on May 6th of this year.
Zack Kuntz is heads shoulders about every tight end in Pennsylvania and he's only going into his junior year. Kuntz is definitely more of a pass-catching tight end and proved it as he caught 49 passes for 793 yards and eleven receiving touchdowns during the 2015 season. Kuntz has offers from the likes of Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Florida State, and Pitt. Suffice to say, Kuntz is a hot commodity.
