PA H.S. Football Class A Rankings- Week 1

Penn Preps releases its state high school football rankings after Week  One.  Be sure to check out our extended coverage of District 12 (Philadelphia), District 7 (WPIAL), District 3 and District 1 later on this week on scoutpennpreps.com.  We will also be posting video links of several games courtesy of various other media outlets across the state of Pennsylvania.

Dropped from rankings: Shenango, Bishop Canevin, Delco Christian

Week 1 note: We may have overrated Shenango and Delco Christian to start off the season.  Both teams tumble out of our top ten rankings.  Sto-Rox, Elk County Catholic, and Tri-Valley enter our top ten rankings this week.  Even though they lost to Newport, we will keep an eye on Tri-Valley.  Bishop Guilfoyle remains our #1 team this week.  Again, until somebody beats the two-time Class A champs, they’ll be resting comfortably in the number one slot.

  1. Bishop Guilfoyle (2-0) – defeated Westmont Hilltop 35-7, no change

  2. Clairton (1-0) – defeated #9 Bishop Canevin 58-8, no change

  3. Jeanette (2-0) – defeated Chartiers Houston 5-14, no change

  4. Moshannon Valley (2-0) – defeated Southern Huntingdon 35-7, no change

  5. Old Forge (1-1) – defeated Carbondale Area 20-14, no change
