District 1: Top 5 games for Week 2, News and Notes

Scout Penn Preps takes a look at the top five games in each district for Week Two and provides some additional news and notes on some of the players from each district.

TOP 5 GAMES FOR WEEK 2

Pennridge (1-1) @ Perkiomen Valley (1-1)

Pennsbury  (1-1)   vs.  North Penn (2-0, Class AAAAAA #6)

Ridley (2-0) vs. Garnet Valley (2-0)

Roman Catholic (1-1) vs. Downingtown East (1-1)

Spring-Ford (2-0) vs. Wilson West Lawn (1-0)

PENN PREPS PICK FOR BEST GAME: Spring-Ford vs. Wilson West Lawn.  Spring-Ford quarterback T.J. Pergine has thrown for 412 yards (24/40 passing) and five touchdowns through his first two games as a starter.  Wilson running back Ignacion Reynoso ran for 118 yards and one touchdown in their season-opening win vs. Governor Mifflin. It’s super early in the season, but a win over Wilson would be very impressive for Spring-Ford.

BITTER RIVALRY: No matter what the record is, bragging rights are ALWAYS at stake when Norristown and Plymouth-Whitemarsh play each other in football.

NORTH PENN is currently ranked #5 in our Class AAAAAA rankings and might move up another slot with a win over Pennsbury this weekend.

ACADEMY PARK is currently ranked #7 in our Class AAAAA rankings and will take on Bonner-Prendegast out of the Philadelphia Catholic League this week.

PARKLAND AND NESHAMINY are the other two teams currently ranked in the top ten of our CLASS AAAAAA rankings.
