PA H.S. Football AAAAA Rankings- Week 2

Penn Preps releases its state high school football rankings after Week Two.  Our rankings come out on the following Wednesday once all games are completed.  Penn Preps rankings are solely based on the research, games watched and knowledge of the Scout Penn Preps staff.  Penn Preps does not consider any other rankings and is not a part of any newspaper or other Pennsylvania media association.

  1. Archbishop Wood (0-1) - bye. No change.

  2. Upper St. Clair (2-0) defeated Moon 35-3, previously 3

  3. Woodland Hills  (3-0) defeated Fox Chapel 54-12, previously 5

  4. Penn-Trafford (3-0) - defeated Plum 24-7,  previously 6

  5. Armstrong (3-0) – defeated McKeesport , previously unranked

  6. Academy Park (3-0)- defeated Bonner-Prendergast 28-8,  previously 7

  7. Upper Dublin (2-0), idle, previously 8

  8. Manheim Central (2-0) - defeated Donegal 55-0, previously 9

  9. Archbishop Ryan (3-0) -  , previously unranked , defeated Lansdale Catholic 35-0

  10. West Allegheny - defeated North Hills 24-16, no change.

#1 Archbishop Wood and St. Joseph’s Prep (Class AAAAAA #1) play each other this Friday in a nationally televised game on ESPNU.  Both team are ranked number one in Class AAAAAA (St. Joseph’s Prep) and Class AAAAA (Archbishop Wood). It’s clearly the game of the week.  St. Joseph’s balance on offense has them looking like the favorites in Class AAAAAA right now.

#5 Armstrong will take on Gateway (2-1) at home this week.

#9 Archbishop Ryan will get its first real test of the year when they take on Father Judge (2-1).  Archbishop Ryan running back Jaye McNeil and Father Judge athlete Rob King should put on a show this weekend.

Dropped out - Wyoming Valley West, McKeesport
