PA H.S. Football AAAA Rankings-After Week 5

Penn Preps releases its state high school football rankings after Week Five.  Our rankings come out on the following Wednesday once all games are completed.  Penn Preps rankings are solely based on the research, games watched and knowledge of the Scout Penn Preps staff.  Penn Preps does not consider any other rankings and is not a part of any newspaper or other Pennsylvania media association.

1. Imhotep Charter - (5-0)- defeated Malvern Prep 48-7, no change in ranking.

2. Cathedral Prep - (6-0) - defeated St. Joseph's Collegiate (ny) 41-0, no change in ranking.

3. Thomas Jefferson (5-0) - defeated Ringgold 55-14, no change in ranking

4. Belle Vernon (5-0) - defeated Laurel Highlands 42-0, previously No. 5

5. South Fayette (5-0) - defeated Blackhawk 28-21, previously No. 4

6. Bethlehem Catholic (5-1) - defeated Easton 20-9, previously No. 9

7. Greater Johnstown (5-0) - defeated Somerset 35-14, previously No. 8

8. Interboro (5-1) - defeated Chichester 28-0, previously No. 10

9. Cardinal O'Hara (5-0) - idle, previously unranked

10. Berks Catholic (4-1) - lost to Exeter 35-20, previously No. 6

Dropped out: Saucon Valley.

Quick take: There may not be a team in the east that can beat Imhotep Charter.  Cardinal O'Hara enters our top ten for the first time this year while Saucon Valley drops out.  We won't penalize Berks Catholic too much for losing to 5-AAAAA Exeter.  Shippensburg (5-0) and Bishop McDevitt could get into the top ten at some point in the next couple of weeks.
