If you’ve followed Pennsylvania football for the past several years, the name “Peoples” should ring a few bells. Running backs Desmond and Brandon Peoples, who are also cousins, both helped lead Archbishop Wood to a state championship back in 2011. The latest up to bat is Nasir Peoples who is currently a junior defensive back for Archbishop Wood. Peoples, who helped his team win a state championship this year at the Class AAAAA level, received his first offer this week from Virginia Tech.
“They (Virginia Tech coaches) said that they like my size and speed,” said Peoples. “They like the fact that I can play both cornerback and safety. They see me fitting into their defense as a strong safety.”
Peoples is also getting interest from West Virginia, Temple, Maryland and Rutgers. Peoples will be taking an unofficial visit to West Virginia this upcoming weekend. The junior defensive back will then visit Virginia Tech next weekend for their Junior Day.
