Since the beginning of February, the recruitment of junior wide receiver Blake Veargis has started to heat up.  Veargis, a playmaker from the state of Florida (Monsignor Pace High School), collected three offers this week that included two from North Carolina and NC State.

Veargis now holds offers from North Carolina, N.C. State, UAB, Kent State, and Florida Atlantic. Veargis talked to Scout Penn Preps about his recruitment.

On N.C. State: "Their coaches looked at my tape and said they liked the way I make amazing catches.  They also said that my blocking skills are excellent and that I've improved since my freshman year."

On North Carolina:  "I haven't really talked to their coaches yet but I'm forming a relationship with (Head) Coach (Larry) Fedora.  I talked to him recently and I'm excited to do big things with him."

All of the schools that have offered Veargis are looking at him as a wide receiver.  Veargis is also getting interest from Florida, Rutgers, Kansas State and Georgia Tech.  Veargis plans to take unofficial visits to both Florida and Florida State in the future. It's also worth noting that Beargis will be playing for the South Florida Express, a well-known and very respected 7v7 travel team out of Florida that usually features a lot of top skill players from Florida.
