It was less than two weeks ago that 2018 defensive back Nasir Peoples (Archbishop Wood H.S. - PA) received his first offer from Virginia Tech. A couple weeks and several offers later, Peoples put an end to his recruitment and committed to the Hokies.
According to Peoples, Virginia Tech has always been his dream school.
"Virginia Tech has been my dream school growing up," said Peoples. "I grew up watching Tyrod Taylor, Michael Vick and David Wilson. When Virginia Tech offered me, I knew that's where I wanted to go. I wanted to go visit the campus (Peoples visited durng their Junior Day) and meet the coaches face to face to get a feel for them. I always wanted to get an offer from Virginia Tech."
Peoples also received offers from Rutgers, Boston College and Pitt within the last couple of weeks. Peoples had been in contact with Virginia Tech cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell for over the past year.
"During the process, I talked to Coach Mitchell the most," said Peoples. "Coach Mitchell and I have been talking for a year now. I met him during one of their football camps this past summer. He said he liked my athleticism and size. He just wanted to see my junior season highlights."
Nasir Peoples is the third member of the Peoples family to commit to a Division I school within the past several years. Desmon Peoples (Rutgers) and Brandon Peoples, who both played at Archbishop Wood, gave him advice on how to handle the recruiting process.
"Desmon and Brandon told me to enjoy the recruiting process. They told me to make sure to pick the school you really want to be at after football is over."
