RB Scott One Of ACC School's Top Prospects

With his stock going through the roof right now 2011 RB Dawan Scott of Irmo has been showered with mail and the Irmo athletic department is getting a ton of phone calls. One ACC school decided to hit the road and stop by Irmo to check out Scott in person and inside he talks about the very latest inside with SCPrepNation.com as he emerges as one of the top prospects on their recruiting board.

Dawan Scott Profile

The fairly new found fame for 2011 Irmo RB Dawan Scott continues each day. As the weeks have gone by Scott goes out and piles up the yards and touchdowns on the ground. SCPrepNation.com has taken notice and now colleges are starting to dial up the Irmo athletic department with regularity these days inquiring about Scott. One ACC school came by the Irmo campus on Monday to see about the running back who's creating so much buzz.

As we reported early yesterday afternoon Maryland stopped by Irmo to inquire about Scott. He talked about what the coaches had to say following practice.

"They came by and said that they want one more back but there's no guarantee for it but that I'm on top of their list. They want to go see Deangelo Henderson at Summerville too. They were actually going to see him after they left me."

"He said I have good speed and great vision and all I need is to add more size but that they can work on that. They also said that if I could just break out a little more they will probably offer quick because they are looking for a back that can just break and go out of the backfield."

Asked where things stand right now as he's taking in all the new found interest Scott says he's focused on getting better each week and staying humble.

After reviewing Scott's early senior season highlights in which he's rushed for 1283 yards and 20 touchdowns in just six games while sitting out the second half of a few games it's easy to see why Scott should start to see the offers come rolling in once he receives his qualifying score on the SAT. Scott is taking the SAT on Saturday and reports a 3.3 GPA in the classroom. Stay tuned for those highlights and you'll see for yourself why he'll land high on our next batch of in-state player rankings.
