This past Friday 2011 QB/ATH Jeremiah McKie showed everyone what kind of threat he is for the Mauldin Mavericks. The talented prospect nearly helped Mauldin defeat Byrnes but fell after a field goal with just 8 seconds remaining in the game. Afterwards though we caught up with McKie to find out just where his recruitment stands right now and what his thoughts were moving forward for his squad during his senior season.
"The Byrnes game is probably one of my best games this year. I rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown and threw for another touchdown," McKie said.
"Our main focus now is to win out the rest of the way in the region."
There's been an influx of regional schools taking a long hard look at McKie lately and he talked about just who he's hearing from the most currently.
"Right now I'm hearing the most from Furman, Wofford, Coastal Carolina, Presbyterian, and Newberry."
McKie says he's already taken a visit to Furman and enjoyed his time there. Asked what position most schools are recruiting him at he replied, "The wing-T type offenses are recruiting me as a quarterback but all the other schools are recruiting me as an athlete. Honestly though it doesn't matter to me where I play at on the next level as far as position goes."
McKie currently reports a 2.9 GPA and SCPrepNation.com should have some senior season video highlights available soon so stay tuned.
