Gamecocks Join The Mix For In-State 2012 DE

The South Carolina Gamecocks had plenty of top recruits on hand this past Saturday in Williams-Brice Stadium. They had some of the high priority prospects from 2011 on hand and there were also some juniors who made the trip to Columbia as well. One in-state 2012 DE watched the monumental win and afterwards got a verbal from the USC staff. Come inside with SCPrepNation.com for the latest.

With most of the eyes in the southeastern region focused on the matchup between Alabama and South Carolina last Saturday the Gamecocks made sure that they had a huge number of their most wanted prospects on hand. One junior prospect from Wando, DE Gimel President, made the trip up I-26 to see the matchup up close and personal. Afterwards he got some more good news from the Gamecock coaching staff.

"I went to the Alabama-South Carolina game this past weekend. It was a wonderful experience to see that many fans and to sit and watch history being made. It was great. I had a good time mixing and meeting with the other recruits that were there too," President told us.

After the game and celebrating with the players and fans also had an effect on the talented in-state prospect who already holds a couple of verbal offers.

"I got to meet with and talk with some of the coaches too and that was a good time for me. After the game Coach Steve Spurrier Jr. offered me and said he would like for me to be a Gamecock."

The offer from the Gamecocks gives President 3 verbal offers now with the other two offers coming from North Carolina and Maryland after putting on some tremendous showings at their camps this offseason.

President will be on the road once again this weekend as he says he will take in the Maryland-Clemson matchup.
