Fairly new to the recruiting process Dawan Scott was going out on Friday nights simply to make plays for his team and to try his very best to showcase his talents. Mission accomplished thus far as he's the state's leading rusher. Schools have started to take note of his efforts and his recruitment has taken flight over the past month and change. We encouraged Scott to get his early senior season highlights together to see what schools had to say about the early body of work.
After getting those highlights together and getting it out to us at Scout.com and on the internet via YouTube.com Scott has been showered with mail and phone calls. On Wednesday night though he received the call he's been waiting on for quite some time.
"I've got my first offer coming up. Miami (OH) head coach just called me and said that he was looking at my film and as soon as he got done watching it he wanted to offer me. He said that sometime next week that they wanted to arrange a trip for me to go up there," Scott told SCPrepNation.com.
Asked how it feels to get that first offer he replied, "It's a great feeling and especially that they wanted to offer me as soon as they got done watching my highlight tape."
Scott says he will probably sit out this week's game due to an ankle injury suffered against Ridge View last week. Scott says his ankle was twisted under the pile but he's trying to rest the ankle so he can get back to his statistical assault this season. In that Ridge View game Scott piled up 185 yards and 2 touchdowns in just one quarter of action.
