3-star wide receiver Shamier Jeffrey continues to impress as he powered Calhoun County to a 42-28 victory over Landrum in the first round of the 1A Division 1 playoffs. The projected wideout plays at quarterback for the Saints and it was easy to see why they entrust the ball to their senior leader.
Jeffrey saw his team go into halftime down 21-20 only to rally to the victory. He scored on 1 yard runs in the first and fourth quarter and then passed for 3 touchdowns through the air.
His first touchdown pass went to 2012 WR Mark Irick from 25 yards, the second to Terrance Whitmore from 7 yards, and again to Irick from 33 yards out to close the scoring for the night.
He finished the night 16-22 for 249 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception to go along with his 2 rushing touchdowns.
Our sources have said that Jeffrey is still uncertain of where he'll head to college but that South Carolina where his brother Alshon plays currently and schools that have offered an opportunity to play at quarterback like Kentucky appear to be out front for the moment.
