Jabo Lee Profile

The Dillon Wildcats are one of the most prominent football programs in the state regardless of classification having won 2 state titles in the last 3 seasons. Coach Jackie Hayes has taken the program to new heights and one of the biggest cogs in the Wildcats' success is 2012 RB Jabo Lee. We caught up with Lee recently to talk about his career with the Wildcats and what he's looking forward to heading towards his senior season. Some of the information we found out was quite startling.

It was over 2 years ago when we first heard about Jabo Lee. It was prior to Dillon's AA state championship game and one of the assistant coaches told us to, "keep an eye out on the freshman running back."

It didn't take long before we and the rest of the audience in attendance of the AA state title game that day knew who Jabo Lee was after busting a tight game open with a 61 yard rushing touchdown. He ended the game with almost 100 yards on the day. Not bad for a freshman.

We move forward two years and Lee has just completed his junior season for the Wildcats. The team won another state title his sophomore season and lost a heartbreaker 20-17 to Central this past season in the title game.

The 5'9 175 pound speedster is still making big plays for the Wildcats and he wasted little time in telling us what his goals were for his senior season.

"To help my team win state is my goal, I don't care about personal statistics," Lee said.

Looking back on his junior season one game in particular he recalls as his best.

"The lower state championship game against Manning was my best game. I had three touchdowns that game. One rushing touchdown and two receiving touchdowns."

Lee had 152 total yards and set the school record for touchdowns in a season with 30 in the 28-22 win over Manning. Lee says he ended the season with 1,200 rushing yards and 1,500 all-purpose yards to go along with those 30 touchdowns.

Considering the numbers he's posted we were pretty stunned when we asked him about recruiting.

"I'm not hearing from any schools."

Lee is wide open to anybody that wants to recruit him but he listed Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Clemson as schools he really would like to hear from soon.

We asked Lee who was the toughest team he faced this past season and who was the toughest player he lined up against?

"I couldn't say. Everyone we play showed a lot of toughness so I respect all my opponents. The toughest guy I've faced would be Lateek Townsend of Marlboro County. He's a very quick player and a great all-around player."

Lee talked about his strengths and areas that he'd like to work on this offseason to come back an even more complete back next season.

"I have the speed to get away from defenses and enough strength to move the chains. Some things I would like to work on are my speed to get even faster and work on picking up heavy blocks."

Stay tuned to SCPrepNation.com as we'll bring you more updates with Dillon RB Jabo Lee in the near future. Nobody else covers the top prospects in the Palmetto State like SCPrepNation.com!!!

Bench press: 230 pounds
Squat: 325 pounds
Power Clean: 235 pounds
40 time: 4.34 seconds

Scout's Take: Jabo Lee is blessed with tremendous speed and claims a 4.34 second 40 time. His physical build reminds me a lot of Shon Carson except that he's not quite as thick but the vision, amazing balance, and ability to outrun defenses are all there. The balance and moves are top rate despite his lack of size at 5'9 175 pounds. Teams will definitely want to take a look at him due to his ability to make people miss and big play abilities.
