Chris Brown Profile

One of the southeast's most athletic wide receivers landed his second scholarship offer on Tuesday. 2012 Hanahan WR Chris Brown got the good news and gave us the news shortly thereafter.

"I just got my second offer from Illinois. Coach Ron West offered me," Brown said.

Asked how it feels to pull in his second offer after gaining his first one from Cincinnati Brown replied, "It feels pretty good. He said he loved my film and passed it on to the offensive coordinator and he liked it even more so it's pretty cool."

Things have picked up for Brown since a remarkable performance at an Under Armour combine in Miami Florida. It was there that Brown rated as the #1 wide receiver at the event and #4 overall regardless of position while in Miami. He talked about what schools have been in the mix as of late.

"I of course talk to Cincinnati's coaches every week, coach Elliott at Clemson, coach Sands at NC State, coach Garner from Georgia, and coach Fountain from Auburn a lot."

Brown says he's still wide open to any program that wants to recruit him but with offers from Cincinnati and Illinois they have an early lead.

"I really like a lot of schools right now,"

Georgia and Auburn appear to be in great shape with Brown as well when we discussed things further. Obviously schools that extend an offer will get more consideration but don't expect a decision anytime soon from Brown either.

His off season workouts continue and he shared with us some of his latest feats in the weight room.

"We just got done with max outs in the weight room. I maxed at 235 pounds on bench, 415 pounds on squat, and had a 36 inch vertical. I ran my 40 today too. I ran a 4.40 in my first run. A 4.38 in my second and a 4.33 in my third and final run."

Expect more news regarding Brown to come soon as schools are quickly becoming highly interested in the 6'3 175 pound speedster. Brown has shot up in our in-state rankings not only at wide receiver but in the overall rankings as well.

We are expecting Brown and other top flight prospects from around the state for a combine that we'll be hosting in April so stay tuned for more forthcoming details regarding that event sponsored by Badger Sports very soon.
