The class of 2012 continues to evolve and we got wind of Boiling Springs OG/DT Eddie Gordon. At 6'3 305 pounds Gordon is an imposing figure and he's had a solid career thus far and is generating quite a bit of interest for himself. With that said Gordon is the latest player to be featured in SCPrepNation.com's "UP NEXT" series.
Gordon says he gets quite a bit of mail from numerous programs all over the country and he shared the early list with us.
As of right now Gordon says that Georgia Tech and South Carolina are showing him the most attention.
The 2012 prospect has already taken some visits to a couple of those programs and he talked about his experiences at both.
"I've visited Duke and Kentucky so far. At Duke I went to the game against Alabama and North Carolina. They look they may be on the rise in the near future. I visited Kentucky during their game against Vandy. I liked it there too."
Last season was a successful one for Gordon. He enjoyed a good deal of success lining up at guard and defensive tackle for the Bulldogs. One game in particular he felt that he performed his very best in.
"My best game was probably the Greer game. I had 6 pancakes and few knock downs."
Gordon says he feels that his ability to pulling and trapping ability are his strongest assets on the field right now along with his footwork. He talked about what areas of his game he wanted to improve on and what his team and personal goals were for his upcoming senior season.
"This off season I want to work on improving my pad level and just getting even quicker."
"Of course to win is my primary goal for the team. Personally I just want to try and dominate every play every game."
Gordon reports a 3.4 GPA in the classroom and an 18 on the ACT. Looking ahead to college he shared with us what he'll be considering heavily when making a decision.
"Education is the most important thing for me. Almost all the schools have my major, secondary education. Location is kind of important too. I don't wanna go too far from home. Early playing time would be nice too."
We'll continue to track and keep you updated with Eddie Gordon as his recruitment continues to evolve right here on SCPrepNation.com.
