ONE ON ONE Q&A WITH GIMEL PRESIDENT

KF: What schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?
GP: North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Clemson, and South Florida.

KF: Do you have a Top 5 right now?
GP: No sir, not yet.

KF: When do you plan on shortening your list of schools?
GP: Probably after spring football.

KF: What visits or camps have you been to recently? What did you like most about each school?
GP: I will be attending the Badger Sport South Combine/Showcase on April 23rd at Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School.
North Carolina-It's great college town, their program is on the up in a big way, good academics, and nice facilities.
Clemson- It's a good football town to play football in. Academics are number one.
Tennessee-The stadium seats over 100,000 fans. Totally a football town with a rich history for football.
Central Florida- The location is awesome and the weather is the best that you can find. They are a powerhouse in the Big East.

KF: What visits do you have lined up next?
GP: Tennessee and Virginia Tech in the summer.

KF: What have you been working on the most this off season in order to improve next season for your senior year?
GP: I've been in the weight room getting stronger and working on my hands, feet, and hip movement too.

KF: What are your most recent maxes in the weight room and testing?
GP: 345 pounds on bench press, 440 pounds on the squat, and 320 pounds on power clean. I have run a 4.5 second 40 yard dash and broad jumped 9'6".

KF: Last year we know you locked up with 5-star OL Brandon Shell a good bit against Goose Creek. What was it like going up against someone with big time rep like Brandon and what guys are you looking forward to going up against next season?
GP: Brandon was a good fit for me to take on, it will take me to the next level. His size and footwork helped me to work hard that night. It was good to go up against him, I had a lot of fun. I'm not sure who's out there that we will play in the 2011 season as far as offensive lineman, but I will be ready.

KF: You guys lost last year to Gaffney in the playoffs, what was so tough about the Indians?
GP: It was very cold that night in Gaffney and the field was ice hard. They are a very fast team with the quarterback (DeEdward Burris) and wide receiver (Quinshad Davis) that they have.

KF: What factors are going to be the most important to you when making your decision for college?
GP: Education first and foremost but also the players that I will play with, early playing time, coaching staff, facilities, and graduation rates.

KF: What's your timeframe for making a final decision? Will you commit early to concentrate on your senior season or will you wait until National Signing Day?
GP: I still don't know. Just whenever it feels right to me.
