Last year it was Hakeem Flowers and this year's version of Flowers is Hanahan wide receiver Chris Brown. The blowup started a few months ago and it's been whirlwind for Brown as he juggles his track and field obligations as the nation's #1 high school triple jumper along with 7 on 7 work with his Hanahan teammates.
Colleges continue to jockey for position in hopes of landing Brown's commitment. In fact, two more schools have added their names to his list of offers recently.
"I got offer number fifteen from South Carolina," Brown told us.
"We went and competed in a 7 on 7 with my team and Steve Spurrier Jr. offered me along with their defensive backs coach."
Brown says his track obligations have kept him extremely busy so far this summer. He has Junior Trials coming up on June 26th.
"Right now I will be camping with USC on July 22nd and all of the camps with my school too."
Vanderbilt recently offered Brown a scholarship too.
With 15 offers and the likes of other prominent programs across the nation still heavily recruiting him we asked Brown if there were any early frontrunners at this point?
"Some of the schools that stand out to me in no specific order are Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Notre Dame. I am not closing the door to other schools at all though. Those schools have made a strong impression on me at this point so far."
