Caleb Smith Profile

Each year there are some guys who we feel are flying well under the radar and one of those prospects that we designated early on was 2012 Woodruff OL Caleb Smith. After picking up an early offer Smith has been hitting the camp circuit and done quite well for himself. We caught up with the 6'4 280 pound prospect for an update on the very latest.

"Everything has been going good. Recently I have gotten another offer from Gardner Webb and have visited Appalachian State for a camp."

The offer from Gardner Webb joins his first offer which came from Newberry College. The Bulldogs and Mountaineers apparently feel just as strongly about Smith as we do when it comes to his talents.

"Gardner-Webb told me that I was their number one lineman and offered me on the spot. Appalachian State also told me that I was their number one too."

Last weekend Smith traveled down to Lower Richland High School to participate in the MVP Camp put on by Scout.com South regional manager Chad Simmons and he talked about how he felt he performed against some of the region's top prospects.

"I feel that I did okay at the MVP Camp but I know that I could have done better. I really wanted the best lineman award (laughs)."

Stay tuned to SCPrepNation.com as we'll continue to track the recruitment of Caleb Smith and other top prospects here in the Palmetto State each and every day!
