It seems like Adam Ah Ching has been on the recruiting scene for quite a long time to many people. It's because he has been. After making waves after his freshman season at Greer High he did the same out west during stops at various camps after his freshman and sophomore seasons. He earned some early offers and has added some more over the course of the past couple of seasons. We caught up with Ah Ching for an update concerning his most recent trip which included stops at three programs who are heavily in the mix for him currently.
The 2012 linebacker broke down his thoughts about each program for us.
Notre Dame: "It was good. They have a great atmosphere. My cousin plays there and thought it would be cool if I played there too. The coaches said that I was perfect for their scheme and liked the way I ran through drills and 1 on 1's. I didn't get beat at all. They also said I had great feet and want to see my early film to see if they want to offer me. I ran a 4.73 40 and a 4.29 shuttle there."
North Carolina State: "I liked NC State. The coaches loved me and wanted to see how I would do at fullback too. They said I could play both ways if I played for them."
Nebraska: "The Nebraska coaches seem like they want me more than anybody else I have talked to. They said I would play right away if I went there."
So after seeing three prominent programs and gathering more information which program really stood out from the trio for Ah Ching?
"Nebraska did. They have verbally offered me already."
Still no where near making a decision we asked Ah Ching if there were any schools who were starting to emerge as early favorites for him and he replied, "Nebraska and Utah right now."
During his junior season Ah Ching accumulated 150 tackles for the Yellow Jackets and he's looking to add to those totals heading into his senior season in hopes of helping Greer to another AAA state championship.
