Dalton Saunders Profile

Like a lot of other rising senior prospects in the Palmetto State Dalton Saunders is going through the rigors of training in the blazing heat in order to make his senior season one to remember. We caught up with the Summerville quarterback recently to talk about his recruitment and more.

The 6'0 180 pound signal caller talked about what he's been keying on so far this summer in an effort to get better.

"During this off season I'm trying to get better in all aspects of the game. But mostly I've been working on my speed and agility."

Last year as a junior, Saunders passed for 2,700 yards and 24 touchdowns, en route to another winning season for Summerville.

Prior to that he had over 2,200+ yards and 28 touchdowns during his sophomore campaign.

The 2012 attributes three particular aspects of his game as his strongest right now.

"My biggest strengths are my ability to read defenses, my accuracy, and my ability to avoid pressure in the pocket."

A couple of in-state programs join an impressive list of schools who are currently recruiting the Green Wave quarterback.

"I've heard from Notre Dame, North Carolina State, Duke, Elon, Harvard, Princeton, Furman, and Wofford. I'd have to say Furman and Wofford are coming after me the hardest. They've both been to my school to see me."

"I have visited both Furman and Wofford. I loved Furman they had the nicest campus and a great set of coaches."

Talking with Saunders he informed us that distance won't play a role in his recruitment. It's simply going to be a "comfort" level that he's looking for.

"I want to be somewhere where I feel like the people actually care about me."

Next season will play a vital role in Saunders' recruitment and he's looking forward to play to begin in almost two months.

"My goals for this season are to win a state championship and just be the best team player/ leader I can be."
