Goose Creek's Turner Is Highly Motivated

Gerald Turner doesn't talk much but he loves to let his play do the talking on the field. The 2013 Goose Creek linebacker already holds offers from the in-state powers and is looking forward to step his game up even further during his junior season. The Gators will be one of the favorites in AAAA once again and Turner is one of their best prospects again in the mix.

Gerald Turner Profile

Gerald Turner of Goose Creek High School already holds offers from the state's in-state powers, Clemson and South Carolina. We caught up with the 2013 prospect to talk about his upcoming junior season and recruiting recently.

Projected as a linebacker on the next level the Gators will utilize Turner up front he says and another position on offense.

"I am still going to play at defensive end and I am going to play some at tight end too."

To prepare for his junior season in the trenches on the defensive line Turner says he's made a great improvement in a couple of areas that should be beneficial to his cause there.

"My hands have improved like I wanted them to since I'm going to play defensive end this year. My first step has really gotten better too."

Turner's first offer came from South Carolina and Clemson joined the mix back in May he says. This off season he wasn't able to attend many camps but he recalled the few he was able to make it out to.

"I didn't really go to many camps because I was out of town, but I went to the MVP Camp and the Georgia Tech and Gamecock Showcase."

With two seasons ahead of him Turner says he'd like to hear from more schools in the near future.

"Georgia is supposed to be interested in me I've heard, I would like to hear from them and Miami, Virginia Tech, Florida State, North Carolina, and Alabama."

Stay tuned to as we'll have more with Gerald Turner and other top prospects here in the Palmetto State each and every day.
