Brandon Sturdivant Profile

It was tough for 2012 FB Brandon Sturdivant last season. The Nation Ford prospect tore his ACL and miss his junior season but after showing promise during his sophomore season he's back and ready to hit the field for his senior season. SCPrepNation.com caught up with Sturdivant as he's hearing from schools all over the eastern seaboard after some strong camp showings.

"Right now I'm hearing from Florida, NC State, South Carolina, Penn State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech. I don't have any offers yet but I think NC State or Florida may be the closest to offering right now. I will find out when I go to the Alabama-Florida game if they are going to offer me or not," the 6'1 225 pound fullback told us.

He says Florida, NC State, and Virginia Tech are recruiting him the hardest out of everyone currently and everyone is recruiting him as a fullback. That won't be the only position he'll line up for Nation Ford this season though as he told us where he'll play and what camps he made it to this off season.

"I camped at Virginia Tech, South Carolina, NC State, and Florida this summer. This year I'm playing fullback, slot receiver, and tailback."

Having missed his junior season with the ACL injury it's ironic because during his sophomore season he lined up primarily as a tight end where he had 16 catches for 270 yards.

The long road of rehabilitation has served Sturdivant well as he's done very well at various camps this off season. He talked about how he's evolved through the rigors of training and rehab over the past year.

"My combination of size and speed along with my vision are my biggest strengths now. I've really worked on my speed and footwork probably the hardest. That and my all around strength."

Sturdivant was straight forward with his outlook for his team heading into his senior season.

"I want to make the playoffs, beat our rival, and win our region. Practice has been good so far, everyone is really getting after it. I'm definitely happy with where we are right now as a team. Nobody is slacking off and everybody is all in!"

Generally prospects are really looking forward to specific games on the schedule heading into the season. That isn't the case for Sturdivant after sitting out last year.

"I'm looking forward to all of them because I've been out quite a while but especially the first game. The first home game and the game against our rival Fort Mill."

The 2012 fullback already has a few visits lined up for this coming season as well he says.

"I'll be going to Virginia Tech and NC State. I'm not sure which games yet though. I know I'm going to the South Carolina and Florida game at South Carolina."

Sturdivant told us that education and early playing time are some keys that he'll be looking at when choosing a potential college.

SCPrepNation.com will continue to monitor Brandon Sturdivant as the 2-star prospect is hoping for a big senior season in order to draw more attention his direction but more importantly some offers.
