Ben Boulware Profile

With the 2013 recruiting class here in South Carolina starting to really take shape and prospects starting to emerge we bring you one of the state's best looking juniors in T.L. Hanna linebacker Ben Boulware.

College coaches love having playmaking linebackers and Boulware is indeed a playmaker for coach Kenya Fouch's squad. As a sophomore his stats were impressive without a doubt.

"Last year I had 151 tackles, 5 interceptions, 11 TFL, 1 blocked kick, 2 sacks, and 5 caused fumbles."

With such huge numbers last year we asked Boulware to try and single out his best performance from a year ago as well as the toughest team and player he faced as a sophomore.

"My best game was against Mauldin because I had 20 tackles and 2 interceptions."

"The toughest team we played last year was Byrnes because they were talented all around and they have a great coaching staff. The toughest player I faced last year was Shakeem Wharton from Byrnes because he is a big running back with quick feet."

The 2013 prospect says he's worked on all facets of his game this off season to prepare for his junior season and he touched on this biggest strengths and weaknesses.

"I feel like my strengths on the field are my speed and ability to find the ball. The things I've worked on the most this off season are trying to get stronger and faster, and trying to learn the different schemes of our defense."

"My goals for our team this year are to win state and my personal goals are to have 200+ tackles and get as many offers as possible."

Looking ahead to his junior season Boulware had a lot to say about the off season and goals for his Yellow Jackets squad. He also talked about playing one of Hanna's biggest rivals.

"The off season has went real well, we have a young defense and I think we've learned a lot. Yeah I think we've gotten a lot better over the off season and have became a family. The game I'm looking forward to the most is the Wren game because it's a big rivalry game and it's a close game every year."

Although he has yet to receive his first offer Boulware has been contacted by many college coaches and already has been told his first offer may be forthcoming.

"I've talked to coaches from Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Florida, and kind of from Penn State and West Virginia too. South Florida told me they were going to offer but they haven't yet. Every school is recruiting me at inside linebacker."

Boulware may have two more seasons to go before graduating but the 2013 prospect has a strong grasp on what things he'll be taking a close look at when selecting a college to play for.

"The things I'm looking for in a college are a great campus, being able to start early, and a good coaching staff."
