Our focus going into this matchup is on the talent laden Wolverines of Woodruff as they arguably have one of the state's most powerful offenses and we're eager to see the juggernaut that the Wolverine offense has become under the guidance of head coach Brian Lane.
Up front the Wolverines rely on Clemson commitment Javarius Leamon as well as Caleb Smith who we feel is one of the state's most underrated prospects in the 2012 class. Under center quarterback Ryan Perkins has been fantastic early on after a strong year last season.
Perkins has weapons all around him and it starts with running back Shun Tribble in the backfield. Tribble isn't the biggest back out there but he's a dynamic playmaker that teams have been focusing on after rushing for almost 2,000 yards last season. That attention has opened up things for an already powerful Woodruff receiving corps lead by 2014 stud Blake Bone and 2013 Hermundre Rutledge.
The Wolverines also boast a standout we've spotted on defense in 2014 cornerback Darius Jones. This young man tests off the charts and he played like a veteran last year as a sophomore.
Staff photographer Kevin Edwards and myself will be there to bring you photos, video, and analysis from the game for both teams so stay tuned over the weekend.
