Quez Nesbitt Profile

This season has been a memorable one thus far for the Greer Yellow Jackets. They've won every game except for a tough loss at the hands of AAAA Rock Hill and they've won convincingly too. They have weapons on both sides of the ball but a big reason for their success has been the play of sophomore running back Quez Nesbitt. The 5'6 145 pound back has been a pain for opponents to deal with so far. In fact, a little over halfway through the season he's eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark. We caught up with Nesbitt over the weekend as he's "UP NEXT" with SCPrepNation.com!

Two weeks ago Nesbitt and the Yellow Jackets dismantled rivals Greenville High School. Nesbitt put his stamp on the game with a huge performance.

"It felt great! We had an amazing game!"

This past Friday Nesbitt was at it again as Greer throttled Chapman 51-10. The dynamic back had 10 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 3 passes for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns. The night saw him push his season stats to 1,047 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns. He's also nearing 300 yards receiving and has 5 receiving touchdowns out of the backfield as well.

Although he isn't a big power back Nesbitt has averaged almost 9 yards per carry this season so far. He utilizes good speed, vision, and outstanding lateral movement in following his blocks.

Right now Nesbitt says he and his teammates are trying to take each game one at a time but he realizes there are some big time matchups on the horizon that he's looking forward to.

"The Clinton and Blue Ridge games are going to be big ones for us coming up."

Thus far Nesbitt says he hasn't heard from any colleges but he's hoping to hear from in-state powers Clemson and South Carolina soon he says.

Nesbitt later revealed that Clemson is his dream school.

"Right now I feel like my ability to follow my blockers and my vision are my biggest strengths. I want to work on my blocking ability to become even better."

SCPrepNation.com will continue to track the play and recruitment of Quez Nesbitt as he appears to be one of the top running backs in South Carolina to watch for the 2014 recruiting class.
