Recently named to the South Carolina Shrine Bowl team Great Falls running back Ernest Talford summed up his reaction to finding out the news very simply.
"I was speechless!"
So far Talford says his senior year has gone well and he talked about that and his recruitment with Scout.com.
"It has been good so far this year, we are 5-3. I have 11 rushing touchdowns and about 600+ yards rushing. I have 2 defensive touchdownss, 1 interception return, 1 fumble return, and 2 interceptions on the season."
His efforts landed him in the state's most prestigious all-star game and schools have been showing plenty of interest in the student-athlete with a 4.127 GPA.
Talford doesn't have any offers yet but he's hoping that will change soon especially being recognized as one of the state's and being such a standout in the classroom as well.
"I dont really know if anybody is really close to offering yet. I had to send my highlight tape and a full game to Georgia Tech, so they can look at me more. So they've definitely got my attention."
Others that Talford says are high on his list along with Georgia Tech are Wofford and NC State.
The 2012 Shrine Bowl selection went on a visit recently to Campbell and he talked about his time there.
"I visited Campbell on October 8th. It was good, they beat Butler. Coach Chestnut really showed an interest in me so that meant a lot. I was able to tour the campus while I was there too."
