SCPrepNation.com spoke with 2013 Gaffney High OL Kerry Williams early Saturday and he informed us that he's been picking up more interest from both Clemson and South Carolina. The 6'3 250 pound prospect moved from right tackle to left tackle in the middle of the season and it really improved his game. The Indians had a storybook season end having gone undefeated and thrashing opponents all year before losing to Byrnes in the AAAA Division 1 state championship.
Williams though is currently playing for the Gaffney basketball team which is 13-4 on the year so far to stay in shape. Right now he says his weight fluctuates between 245 and 250 pounds.
One of the in-state schools has invited Williams down next Saturday for a visit he says.
"I've got a visit next Saturday to go check out South Carolina. Coach Shawn Elliott wants me to come down and I'm very excited to learn more about USC."
Williams is a standout performer not only on the football field and basketball court but he also excels in the classroom too. He reports a 3.88 overall GPA and a 3.5 core GPA.
Stay tuned to SCPrepNation.com as we'll have more with Williams once he returns from his visit to Columbia.
