We saw the "it" factor or intangibles last year watching Jadar Johnson of Orangeburg Wilkinson High School. He performed very well at the Badger Sport South Showcase/Combine in Bamberg-Ehrhardt although there were others who had more high profile names in attendance. Johnson we knew was on the cusp of breaking out if his junior season was a success. The results of an impressive junior campaign are now coming to fruition for Johnson as he has received some early offers from a pair of ACC schools in Clemson and North Carolina State.
On Saturday morning Johnson took a ride to another ACC school, North Carolina, to tour the facilities and speak with the coaches. It was during his time in Chapel Hill that Johnson got more good news.
"North Carolina just offered me," Johnson informed us.
Johnson went to Chapel Hill as they are holding their Junior Day but due to a prior obligation the Orangeburg-Wilkinson standout had to speed up the process.
"Yeah, I came up early because I gotta get back to my basketball game tonight so I had a personal tour early this morning. I'm just now leaving actually. Coach Larry Fedora offered me."
Since we rolled his junior film a little over a month ago schools have started to make a move on Johnson and we expect more schools to step things up in the very near future. In fact, take a look once again below of Johnson's junior highlights courtesy of friends at Elite Highlight Tapes.
