After helping Goose Creek win the AAAA Division 2 state championship this past season 2013 linebacker Jalen Stevens has seen his recruitment pick up drastically. Schools have been coming by Goose Creek High and sending him a ton of mail. The 6'3 215 pound prospect picked up his first scholarship offer from North Carolina a few weeks back and other schools are starting to step things up as well he says.
Stevens visited with an ACC school on Saturday and he talked about his trip there with SCPrepNation.com.
"I visited Clemson Saturday for Junior Day. It was cool. I think they may offer come Spring practice."
The season never really stops for Stevens as he's made it a point to train hard heading towards his senior season. From the sounds of it he's made plenty of progress since helping the Gators win a state championship in December.
"I'm up to 221 pounds now and I just ran a 4.58 second 40. That was with a bad start so I know I'm capable of a better time with a good start. So I feel like I'm doing pretty good with my training."
With North Carolina already offering Stevens says multiple schools have told him they're highly interested and he says he has an idea as to when he'll start pulling in more offers.
"I think all my offers are gonna come spring practice and when the dead period is over come April 15th."
Stevens talked about his recruitment as to where it stands right now.
"I'm wide open but Georgia just came in to the picture and me, Gerald Turner, Tramel Terry, and probably Jadar Johnson are gonna go down there for G Day. But I'm wide open. Right now I'm liking North Carolina, UGA, South Carolina, and Clemson."
SCPrepNation.com will have more updates with Jalen Stevens as his recruitment should start to blow up in the coming months.
